Coach Lamons was born in Ft. Collins, Co. At the age of two, his father was stationed in Ft. Hood, Tx, where he spent his child hood and teenage years. He played football for the Belton Tigers in Beton, Tx, where he was a member of the 1998 quarterfinalitst football team. After high school, Coach Lamons went to the University of Texas, where he attended school for two years, majoring in Kinesiology. In 2001, he joined the Navy as an Engineering Labritory Technician. He was stationed on the USS Maryland from 2003-2007. He is currently on active duty, stationed at NRMD, NSB New London.
